| The panel wizard is improved with a better interface: A window allows visual management of advanced options. Like the panel template definition, you have now “Copy panel” allowing to reuse directly parameters of an existing panel in the document. |
This new function allows using multi-components in one operation : Creation of multi-components templates: These “kit” templates are defined by user through a wizard with standard components: cams and dowels, dowels, screws, biscuits. |
A new assembly function allows use of these “kit” templates which automated repetitions and associated processes. |

| A new mode of propagation allows to types of distribution: Calculation of start and end distances according to number of elements, step and predefined minimal distances. (Already existing in Version 6.8) Calculation of start and end distance and step according to number of elements and unitary step. The step will be the biggest multiple of unitary step allowing to respect constraints of number and minimal distances. |
This Wood Propagation is available in « Edit – Repeat » function. |
This new function allows, among all edges detected in the document, the user to interchange edges according to a selection of criteria. The user could interchange edges whatever their level of design and method of design (Panel or edge function). |

| The user can now modify operation inside the assembly allowing greater design flexibility. This function allows to modify moulding, dado and rabbet of several parts at the same time whatever their level of assembly without modify the template document. This function not only allows to interchange tools but to manage different parameters of the operation too: Start and exit conditions. Offset in X and Z and the angle. |
This new function allows to affect or remove properties to/from parts in the document, whatever their level of assembly. Like the edges management, the user can select parts according to a list of criteria. |
Now, the matters and coatings configuration is based on the same kind of selection. |

Customization of automatic codification |

| TopSolid'Wood 2008 allows the user to create in a BOM a property called “Codification”. This codification is created by concatenation of information available in the BOM. The user can customize this property and use it as BOM index, in the title block or as file names when the user exports parts. |

Several patterns of hatching are delivered with this new version like solid wood (end grain or wood grain), lumber core, plywood, particule board, MDF, … |
The user can easily create his own patterns and save them into his configuration. |
All hatchings can be associated to material and will be oriented according to the grain orientation of parts. Hatching of drafts is fully associative with the 3D model and his grain orientation. |

5 axis operations of moulding, dado and rabbet of TopSolid’Wood are now automatically detected by TopSolid’WoodCam. Generated 3D tool paths allows to manage in continuous 5axis CNC machines. |
Machining of dados on non planar lateral faces is now possible in continuous mode. Possibilities with aggregates are multiplied with an easy management. And their use is not limited to “4 axis positioned” anymore. |
A new dialog box allows to manage rails and pods positioning. This management is linked to machine kinematics. Positioning virtually defined into TopSolid’WoodCam could be sent automatically to machines via post processor. This new function can be used on machine with rails and pods managed by CNC or LED display. |

A new lead in/out mode for routings, openings, and cuts is available. It allows a progressive start inside material in Z axis. |
